Practicum goals, feelings, and expectations
1. Three goals I have for myself include:
* become familiar with Goal book. This is a source that Greenville County Schools has recommended for teachers. I have used in somewhat my first year as a resource teacher. It has many useful features; you can create a goal, develop present levels, and discover strategies to implement. I am going to take this as an opportunity to dive into it for better understanding.😉
* learn how to use the break out room feature in a zoom classroom. I have never taught over zoom so this is a new experience. I have used zoom for IEP meeting, as a student, and as a parent in an IEP meeting. This will add to my knowledge of navigating zoom.
* design strategies that provide opportunities for aha moments that lead students to meet their individual goals 🙌
2. I am nervous about this course because I have never taught online before. I am nervous I will mess up transitioning to the break out room with students. I will need to practice this beforehand. I feel that my experience has a resource teacher will greatly help me to develop assessments and lessons for students. As well as, communicate student's progress to their parents. I look forward to working with the children and excited to meet them. 😃 I do wish that I had more information for some of the students. I am hoping to have a zoom classroom that runs smoothly and efficiently. I am looking forward to working with Sydney as I have never have worked with a co-teacher before. 😊
These were great goals. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteAmy I love that your goals are aimed at helping the students! I agree that Goalbook can be a good resource. Even though we had training with it, there is still so much to explore. I love the usefulness of the breakout feature, and once you understand how to use it, it can be a great tool. Honestly I can understand some of your anxiety, but the kiddos probably will not judge you for it. I hope you end up loving working with a co-teacher! It has been my favorite :) Good luck to you and Sydney!
ReplyDeleteAmy, I have absolutely loved working with you as my co-teacher so far and how we collaborate. I also would like to get better with the break out rooms as we learned this past week. It has been lots of fun creating new ideas together for our students.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading your goals. I hate I didn't think to use goalbook to help with finding goals for our students. That would've been really helpful. I can't wait to read the rest of your post to see how everything is going. I know you and Sydney have this!
